MISSIONS WERE ON TOP OF THE LIST IN THE FAITH FESTIVAL OF FINLAND IN JULY
Offerings were given to missions in Columbia and to the European Coalition for Israel
People gathered from all around Finland to the annual Faith Festival of
Finland in the beginning of July. Somebody commented on the event as
follows: "It was the best conference ever in the history of Word of Life in Finland." The big tent in the Kupittaa park in Turku was filled with
praise and worship, challenging faith teaching, evangelistic revival
preaching, prayer and intercession. In spite of the fairly high costs
of the festival nearly 20 per cent (more than 11 000 euro altogether)
of the offerings were given to Steve Hill's missions in Columbia and to
the European Coalition for Israel.
Evangelist Steve Hill said that he was glad to come to Finland, and he
told about the guidance of the Lord regarding coming even this time -
even if it were for two meetings. Rev. Hill preached passionately about
the
need of repentance, and as a result many people in the tent knelt down and gave themselves to the Lord.
Both Moisés Annacondia (Carlos Annacondia's son) and Diego Carbone from
Argentina taught very clearly about Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth
and the Life. Diego Carbone got the whole audience into singing the
song "Man of Galilee".
Israel meeting visited by the ambassador of Israel Avi Granot, Tomas Sandell and Keshet
One of the strongest highlights of the festival was the Israel meeting
on Sunday afternoon. The keynote speaker was Avi Granot, the ambassador
of Israel to Finland and Estonia. The other speaker was Tomas Sandell,
the founder and director of the European Coalition for Israel. The
music group Keshet from Estonia was also greatly appreciated.
In addition to Håkan Westergård, the chairman of the festival, the
following persons also taught in the event: Stefan Salmonsson and
Thomas Nordberg from Sweden, Kalevi Lehtinen, Seppo Pehkonen and
Jonathan
Westergård. In an inspiring way they spoke about the faith that can be
seen in our lives when we trust in the Lord and take new steps on the
path of faith.
